MulticoreWare has always considered interdisciplinary research endeavors as vital markers for growth and innovation. Our MAGIC (MulticoreWare Academia Global Innovation Center) program was established to pursue research and development (R&D) programs in collaboration with engineering colleges. MAGIC research clusters have been established at Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad (IITP), Amrita University, Coimbatore and Kalasalingam University, SriVilliputhur with a clear mandate to pursue applied research.
Participating in the MAGIC Research Labs provides students with early exposure to the essential skills needed to tackle the challenges of emerging technologies and industries.This framework aims to foster joint research activities, offering students valuable opportunities to collaborate with industry professionals and work on live projects. The clusters work on cutting edge research across a gamut of areas not limited to AI driven algorithm development, Cloud applications, Edge Computing and Sensor Fusion Engineering (Radars, LiDars and Signal processing).
Faculty members of universities are also invited to participate in internship programs and contribute to live customer projects. This is promoted as part of our MFI (MulticoreWare Faculty Internship) program and has been very successful.

MAGIC AT IIT PALAKKAD
The MAGIC Lab at IIT Palakkad, inaugurated in June 2022, focuses on multiple research areas, namely, energy efficient mapping of Deep Neural Network (DNN) models onto Edge-Compute devices. Energy-efficient Edge compute accelerators can be used in applications such as smart manufacturing, computer vision, speech recognition and medical analysis without having the need to connect to Cloud systems. The team also works on Radar based In-Cabin Sensing for Automotive and Active Radar Odometry for Autonomous Localization.Â
MulticoreWare engages in collaborative projects on using LLVM compiler framework across domains like Internet of Things, Cyber Physical Systems etc.Â
MAGIC AT KALASALINGAM UNIVERSITY
MulticoreWare and Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) have established a Global Innovation Centre in 2022. The MAGIC lab focuses on areas such as Multi-Modal Sensor Data Fusion Algorithm Development, AI Algorithm Development for Pedestrian Behaviour Prediction & Gesture Recognition and Advanced Video Encoding Solutions.
The successful collaboration has been extended to include internships and placements, fostering a beneficial partnership between the parties involved.
MAGIC AT AMRITA UNIVERSITY
Established in December 2022, the MAGIC Lab at Amrita University focuses on developing an ML-based method to optimize settings for enhanced compression efficiency. This R&D facility pursues joint research activities in Artificial Intelligence, LiDAR Sensors and Compiler Technologies.
MulticoreWare has embarked on an intriguing endeavor aimed at enhancing Video Encoding techniques in text-embedded videos through the application of visual attention models. One of the focus areas is Neuro Evolution, a branch of Artificial Intelligence that uses evolutionary algorithms to generate DL models, evolve networks and optimize for best performance without loss of accuracy on a particular hardware or the target device.
